Veteran's Park

The Alabama Veterans Memorial is far more than just a park... It is a message from all Alabamians, recognizing the price of freedom and peace.
An important mission of the Alabama Veterans Memorial is to educate young people about war and peace and civic responsibility.
The Alabama Fallen Warriors Monument at Veterans Park in Trussville is a series of 116 concrete columns with a giant dog tag attached to each column for every service member who was “Killed in Action” from Alabama since 911 and the War on Terror. See the design concept below.
Since 911, 2001, 226 Alabama Veterans paid the ultimate sacrifice including four service members killed in the Pentagon plane bombing. 115 were Killed in Action and 111 died non-hostile deaths.

The Goal

Construction of a memorial that will be a source of remembrance in honor of Alabama's veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
The AFWP Trussville Veteran's Park Dedication will be held on Veterans' Day weekend, Sunday, November 13, 2022.
